During the holiday season, we're reminded of the importance of giving back to foster strong and stable communities and families.
This month, in the spirt of giving, we partnered with Habitat for Humanity of Northern Virginia (Habitat NOVA) and other local community leaders to celebrate Habitat NOVA's 100th family served with a CEO Build. Our team laced up their work boots and armed themselves with hard hats and hammers to help build a home.
The build was not only a celebration of a milestone for Habitat NOVA, but also a celebration of Freddie Mac's 20+ year partnership with the organization with whom we've volunteered 13,000 hours to help build affordable homes for local families.
"By working together with our partners like Habitat for Humanity year–round, we help strengthen communities and deepen our company's roots in these communities," said VP of Diversity and Inclusion Dominica Groom at the 100 Families Served groundbreaking. "It's a bond that makes Freddie Mac a better neighbor and a better company."
Through our shared goal of making home possible, Freddie Mac and Habitat NOVA strive to create positive, lasting impacts. Homes are the foundation for families to build stability. At the CEO Build, we were honored to help provide a family a fresh start by literally raising the walls of their new home.
Whether you are spending this Thanksgiving at your home, or someone else's, we encourage you to reflect on the meaning of "home." See what others across the nation say about what home means to them.
